What killed Nokia and Blackberry?

Image
Nokia failed as mobile business, Blackberry is on its path to become officially a failed business. But, what failed them? Did not accepting Android failed them? I don't think so. That isn't the exact reason in my opinion. Because, Apple doesn't use Android and in many areas it is far more successful than Android. Then what failed these two companies that we can compare with mythological giant which everyone believed that can't be overpowered and still new companies beat them badly at their own business. Apps. Apps failed both of them. More specifically, the lack of apps. When Android began it wasn't as much polished or user friend as iOS. It grew just because it was free at first. After that, it became popular because it had most Apps in its market after iOS. Nokia and Blackberry's systems weren't terrible. Actually, they were best in their times. Even, Blackberry's OS was popular among the professional users for its high security fea

Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaked!

Image
Above is said to be the leaked image of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 (or it could S8 Edge, as the screen looks curved on both sides). From the photo, we can see one major change on the front. There is no home button. And the fingerprint sense has been moved at the back of the phone. If that's true, Samsung is copying the rumors of Apple removing its Home Button. Also, the popular trend among the Android devices of putting the fingerprint sensor is also adopted. Samsung is known for "adopting" ideas far more shamelessly and this one seems to be true. Though, I am doubtful of the image. The proportions of the fingerprint sensors at the back doesn't seem to be aligning with the camera bump. We can't say anything for sure at the moment. But, if this is what the front of the S8 is going to look, it's very welcome change. The rumored specs for S8 is said to be 5.8 inch curved screen with 18.5:9 ratio. And it is also rumored to come with a second variant wi

Such storage devices will allow our phones, PCs and even smartwatches to have billions of TBs of data storage capacity.  We have covered the topic extensively under the article, How DNA Storage will Revolutionize Digital Storage? Below is the video explaining the DNA Storage technology: 2. Hololense Hololense is an augmented reality device. There many usages of Holo

Recipe to Make THE PERFECT SHOES!

Image
Nike recently launched the shoes that laces themselves. This is the video explaining the futuristic shoes: Now, I am going to suggest them to make THE PERFECT SHOES ever! My Perfect Shoes wish-list include: Self-lacing ability Never Required to Charge Never Required to Cleanup Automatic wearing-off abilities Some of them looks impossible. What if I say that all four of them are already possible? Only assembling those features into a nice shoe is left to do! Let's see all the requirements one by one and how they are possible with our existing technology. 1. Self-lacing Ability That has been achieved. Though, it can be improved. 2. Never Required to Charge The current Nike Mags have batteries in them that are required to charge, just like your smartphone. Yes, from now on, you will charge your shoes, too. Maybe in future, you will even charge your underwear. But, how is it possible? You might have heard of watches that self-charge via Kinetic en

Another Proof of the Removal of the Home Button on the Next iPhone

Image
I explained in iPhone 7 Hints Radical Design Improvements of the Next iPhone , about how Apple is planning to make some radical design changes for the 10th anniversary of iPhone next year. Recently, Apple gave another proof that those hints are indeed true. Apple has filed a patent application for a touch screen that acts as a finger print scanner. That means, the home button is no longer necessary. Here is the image of the patent filed: Apple is killing the Home Button one step at a time. First it made it static, now the finger print scanner is being implemented on the touch screen. What's left? The iconic round shape. That will either become a software button, like Android, or will be gone completely and its functionality will be taken over by some new feature. Apple's planning something radical for the next year.

Why the Success of Pixel Phones is Good for Everyone?

Image
1. Software 2. Hardware 3. Marketing This is the combination for Apple's success. None of the other companies have it. Samsung has Hardware. Google has software. Apple can make its product with maximum efficiency with the combination of software and hardware and here is a very good article on that . Out of minimum resources, Apple makes best use of things. That cuts down the costs, simplifies process and gives a great control over things that can't be imagined in Samsung or Google's scenario. That's why, Google keeps releasing its own phones under various brands like Nexus, Android One and now Pixel. Samsung too isn't letting go of its own Tizen OS. Why? Because that's the best way to produce a gadget - total control over software and hardware. Now, either Google will have to produce its own hardware at the risk of pissing Android device manufacturers or Samsung will have to make its Tizen OS strong. Success of any one of them will finally ma
